The job I loved is no longer.
Actions I have taken almost twenty years ago are coming back to haunt me and I can’t pass the security clearance necessary for some of my work. There are back channels which would allow me to return, in theory, but it feels like that ship has sailed.
Today, I allowed myself to wallow and feel sorry for myself, but the sad sack day is coming to a close and I am doing what manly men everywhere do when they get laid off and I’m getting drunk tonight.
Tomorrow, I pack so I can move into town for the hunt. The job hunt, that is.
